Hayashi Presses the Skins at $3900 Fundraiser in Sonoma

FAT CATS WITH BIG CHECKS CAN'T PLAY GOLF IN ALAMEDA COUNTY?
If you did not receive an invitation to Assemblywoman Mary Hayashi's fundraiser at the Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa, check it out here. For $3,900 lobbyists and supporters of Hayashi could join her for dinner, play a round of golf and rest their weary muscles with a luxurious spa treatment.

Pressing skin with contributor is nothing new, but playing the Skins Game is apparently the new new new thing among politicians with one senator was recently caught living it up using unregulated Leadership Political Action Committees. Nobody is saying Hayashi is abusing the system anymore than anyone else, in fact, the trick with Leadership PACs is their difficulty in being traced to any member of government.

Instead, many are wondering why Hayashi chose to hold a high-priced fundraiser in a county other than her own? In the midst of a recession, why not keep the money at a golf resort in Alameda County where your constituents actually benefit from your largess?

Hayashi's agenda is determined by the corporations and their lobbyists that shower her with campaign contributions and gifts. Next year we will see another set of bills introduced by Hayashi that will allow corporate California to rip off consumers.

I can't imagine many regular supporters of Hayashi are writing those checks. At that price you're paying for access.

One should ask how many of the check writers live in the 18th Assembly District...the Assemblywoman's office will probably come up with some boiler plate response that this is nothing out of the ordinary. And it isn't. BUT...she SHOULD hold every fundraiser in her district. When you look like a politician, you deserve heat. She looks like a politician and sounds like one too. Given that she once said "saving San Leandro Hospital is my top priority."
To bad she has only one priority.
