Candidate for Congress Posts False List of Socialists

 Sen. Joseph McCarthy
BAKER POSTS ERRONEOUS LIST OF 'AVOWED' COMMIES; INCLUDES STARK “Congressman Stark is a Marxist," Forest Baker wrote earlier this month. "The last of the 1960′s far left radicals."

Baker is the Republican nominee facing Rep. Pete Stark this fall. Since defeating a June challenger who went by the name "Coach," Baker's strategy thus far has been to follow the impotent game plan of linking Democrats to socialism.

Today, Baker tweeted to his followers a blog posting from the conservative web site American Thinker revealing 70 members of Congress are "avowed" socialists. Stark, of course, is listed babooshka and all. The list has circulated around the web for over a year reputedly from the Socialist Party of America, but is somewhat akin to the drawing of the a beautiful princess once turned upside-down becomes a wrinkled old woman.

It also includes California comrades Rep. Barbara Lee and the embattled Rep. Maxine Waters. According to American Thinker, 70 of the 255 Democrats in Congress are on the list, but Speaker Nancy Pelosi is a notable omission. Wait, cue the voice of Joseph McCarthy: "You also wonder how many are still in the closet," they wrote.

One problem, though, the Socialist Party of America does not exist, nor does the list of so-called commies, although it can be construed as a cobbled together list of progressive legislators. In fact, there is only one "avowed" socialist in American politics--Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders--where maple syrup and socialism has coexisted for nearly 20 years.

With a electorate Baker admits is less than one-fifth Republican, why is Baker reaching out to the far-right fringe of District 13? The posting is rife with inconsistencies and blatant lies. An update of the posting vaguely confronts the issue of theSocial Party of America not existing by mentioning it merely underwent a name change to the progressive party caucus along with adding puppetmaster George Soros is lurking in the background. In addition, the Democratic candidate vying to win President Obama's former senate seat in Illinois, Alex Giannoulias vowed last week to create a progressive caucus in the senate if victorious not as a counterweight to conservatives, but as opposition to fiscally conservative Blue Dog Democrats.

What is a Bay Area Republican to do with an opposition more fearful of its own members and without any support from the RNC? Apparently, there is nowhere else but the fringe. The Tea Party independent candidate for Stark's seat, Chris Pareja, appears to have come up short in gaining the requisite number of signatures to qualify for the ballot, but he too veered hard to the right. A number of his comments have revealed a strict constructionist critique of the Constitution. Pareja reported an exchange with Stark in Alameda last week where he asked the congressman to send a letter on his behalf to the state secretary of state asking for an extension for his challenger. Stark told Pareja he was not in the business of helping his opponent beat him. Helping the disenfranchised minority is an a Progressive tenet, isn't it? In this case, Stark isn't a very good socialist.

What's the news here? Pete Stark admitted in the Daily Review a few years ago that he was "a Communist in the Soviet Union". Everyone knows he's an enemy of the United States.
Manuel

This is the funny part, goofballs like Manuel don't understand satire. I think the point of this is to show these people don't believe in facts and he goes along and references articles that never existed saying Stark said he was communist in the USSR. I hope he's joking or he's an enemy of the state.

Manuel ..... man you're one IGNORANT person!!!! are you part of Tea party movement? are you part of the Hate San Leandro and it progressive movement???

Concern citizen of SL!

I guess this is the Rights way of being equal to the Lefts way of calling people racists when maybe they arent?

Excuse me all you dumbasses, but Pete Stark admitted to "I was a Communist in the Soviet Union but there were no Civil Liberties" in the Daily Review about 8-10 years ago. It is so common for the Communist to never admit the truth. For all he does is lie. Pete Stark is an enemy of the United States and the American people.
Manuel

Hey Manel....Dumb Asses is 2 words! and yes in china your communist and in the old USSR you would be a communist. You can only presume that you have taken the sentence out of content so you can justify your stupidity... I'm sure that there's a lot to the the D/R article then just that sentence, but yes if you reside in the old USSR you would be a communist and you wouldn't have any Civil Liberties, the ones that provide you the freedom of your rambling and ATTACKS on people! Your lucky that you reside in the USA even under republicanship you can ramble on.

Hey stupid ass above. I see you're senile and unable to make a coherent sentence. So now you're familiar with the article, typical nonsense from a moron who, like a horsed out junkie, only is looking for his next fix. In this case some welfare from Fortney and the rest of the Commies.
Manuel

Why don't you find the article, paste it back in here, in full, don't get any linguisa stains on it ....That all 5 of us can be up to date on your communist fascination and enthusiasm

Steven. After the way you totally misrepresented Pete Stark's July town hall meeting in Hayward is dispicable. I am the scary bald headed man with the gotee that you slandered with your assertion that I and other at the meeting posed any kind of physical threat to King Stark.

You are not a jounalist. You are a propagandist of the progressive movement...a movement that is destined to fail in this country. One day soon you are going to find yourself on the wrong side of history and will be even les significant than you already are.

Mr. Goeppner (scary bald guy)

I vote to have Mr. Goeppner (scary bald guy) on our next Pod Cast...I'll probably end up agreeing with him the whole time, so lets do it!

You are horrible at making connections. There is in fact a socialist party:
http://socialistparty-usa.org/

Chew on that.

The facebook and twitter pages that you refer to in your blog post are "Fan Pages supporting the candidate" ...
They are not Baker's.
Additionally, Chris Pareja was very, very fond of calling Baker a socialist. You could have found that with a little digging, but oh well.

Great "journalism"?

The Socialist Party of America referenced in the article does not exist. The link above is for the Socialist Party USA. Not the same group.

As for Mr. Goeppner, I was not the only one who witnessed your comments to Rep. Stark. An aide also heard you. Maybe Steve Kemp from the Minutemen or yourself videotaped the exchange. Needless to say, what you said is potential a felony.

As for Forest Baker, he tweeted the information in this article. I was only questioning whether a candidate for congress should be broadcasting an obvious false article purporting to be facts about his opponent.

Slander? I think you mean libel and I don't hear you saying what I described didn't occur. I've been around Tea Party supporters enough to know slander (libel) is code for not liking what someone else has to say.

Steve:

Stark has committed more crimes as a "Representative," so Mr. Goeppner should get a pass.

Moreover, if Mr. Goeppner made a threat and only a threat, it's a misdemeanor. If he acted out on said threat, that's another story; felony only when used with a deadly weapon.

With all the crime in Hayward and it's surrounding cities, law enforcement need not press the matter as it has enough to do.

It seems as though the U.S. Constitution is a foreign matter to Fortney and Tavares. Inalienable rights granted to man and limited rights placed upon government don't seem to have a place in both of their worlds.

Steve,

I don't Tweet. I never Tweet. I don't understand how you don't know that already or could have made such a mistake. You are normally very careful. Everyone knows I don't Tweet. When in doubt, however, please contact me directly to confirm your source if you are going to print that something was said by me. Thanks.

Forest
