5 for 6...which is ok because I wanted The Kings Speech to win!

Steve O, I love your definition of what makes a middle class person believe they're Republican. It's so true. It's also a disdain for people less fortunate. I would say that's what makes people Democrats.

Tony sounds like he was sitting on the crapper.

Eliminating collective bargaining would make it easier for school districts and other government agencies to negotiate performance based contracts with measurable results based criteria, rewarding those employees that excel. It will not take away worker rights as many are saying since worker rights are protected under existing law. Changing the law would also make it possible, although still difficult, to remove bad employees.

Remember a couple years ago when there were some reform measures on the ballot concerning schools and the a$$hole teachers ran ads saying "it will make it easier of a Principal to fire a really good teacher". Now, who in the hell thinks that a "really good teacher" would get fired???? Only an @$$hole who votes Democrat.
Manuel

You can't just fire a teacher, and a teacher with tenure is almost untouchable. What's the minimum years in service these days...a couple years?

I know several teachers and none of them have complained about their salary...they knew what they were getting into from day one. Many of them would like to pay into social security, which is silly if you ask me...but they are more and more convinced that government will get bigger and perhaps they'll have a shot at getting money back. I advise them all to do what I do, rely on themselves and get an IRA.

I love that picture. Obviously a public employee. Can't spell worth a crap.

Faith Frazier? Who cares? No one remembered her anyway. She was out of the picture 30 years ago. Then you bring Santos in to talk about her? What a laughable segment.

Tavares you are a moron. To go and say that these public employees aren't making a lot of money goes to show you're an idiot. A typical dumbass comments from someone with a clue to reality. And to say that Cassidy is against "working people" in this City is preposterous. Cassidy is a huge leftist and for you to attack him just only highlights your ineptitude. For you to mouth the typical lazy government employee's bull&^% about "resentment" again highlights your lack of knowledge of economics. I doubt you were born in Castro Valley, because you think like some backwards peasant from a mud floored, not electricity or indoor plumbed grass hut in Pico or the hills around Funchal.

It would be wonderful to get rid of collective bargaining here in San Leandro and to repeal Binding Arbitration for the Police and Firemen. They've milked the taxpayers and now it's time to reign them in and keep these junkyard dogs on a short leash.

Manuel

Paul/Manuel makes his argument in the most repellent, fact-free, unpersuasive manner possible.

In other words, the sun rose again today.
