Guillen Files FPPC Complaint Against Bonta Over Campaign Finance Disclosures

ELECTION '12//ASSEMBLY 18 | Abel Guillen’s campaign for the 18th Assembly District has filed a formal complaint with California Fair Political Practices Commission alleging his opponent, Rob Bonta, failed to properly disclose campaign finance reports related to his Alameda City Council seat.

Guillen’s campaign manager, Winnie Anderson, filed the complaint earlier this week with the FPPC claiming that Bonta violated the state’s Political Reform Act by failing to file pre-election reports for a committee that ran his 2010 bid for Alameda City Council. On four separate occasions, according to the complaint, Bonta did not file the proper pre-election reports for his city council committee between July 2011 and the most current filing period ending June 30, or, roughly since the beginning of his run for the Assembly...
