No I Told You So's From Lee On 10-Year Anniversary Of Iraq War

George W. Bush: 'Merica goes to war.
CONGRESS | Rep. Barbara Lee, without a doubt the only member of Congress who can, without a whiff of hypocrisy, criticize today’s 10-year anniversary of the start of the Iraq War, hopes the conflict is a lesson against the country ever entering into an open-ended war in the future.

“It is my hope that this reckless and short-sighted decision will mark a turning point in American history, and that we will never again wage an unnecessary war,” Lee said Tuesday on the House floor. “We must use all the tools of American power in resolving disputes, including diplomacy. And we must have sufficient congressional debate and oversight before ever putting another U.S. soldier in harm’s way.

At the time of the resolution, ultimately giving authorization for the president to wage war in Iraq following the 9/11 attacks and under the presupposition so-called weapons of mass destruction existed in the country, Lee was famously the only member of either house of Congress in opposition.

“Today is a solemn anniversary: a tragedy that began ten years ago today when President George W. Bush launched a war of choice in Iraq, dragging our country into a costly, bitter conflict based on falsehoods and hyperbole,” Lee said.

“What happened from there? We all know the tragic consequences: President Bush dragged the country into an unnecessary war; no weapons of mass destruction were ever found; the costs of the Iraq war soared far beyond what was projected; and we lost 4,486 American troops in Iraq, and over 32,000 were wounded.”

In order to be allowed to assume certain government positions there are various requirements. For instance, and to give just a few examples, to become a member of the House of Representatives you need to be at least 25 years old, to be a US Senator at least 30, and to be President of the USA at least 35 and also a natural born citizen.

However until we also add the additional requirement that no person will be allowed to have any of those jobs, and nor to analyze data that will be used to produce reports to be presented to the President and members of Congress, who is a crook, liar, or weasel, we will continue to get involved in all sorts of stupid and outrageous projects and ventures.

For instance, just look at Dianne Feinstein's long and regular history of voting for all sorts of items that are in the financial interests of her husband's various business concerns.

In fact the totally bought and paid for Demagogue Phoneystein, and who pretends that she is deeply committed to increasing public safety by her constantly pushing for more and stricter gun control laws, a few years ago even took the position that the US should give China the technology so that it could develop and acquire nuclear weapons, and I am sure, cough, cough, it had nothing to do with the the fact that her husband had extensive financial interests in China.

So in other words, and although Phoneystein wants to take away rifles from ordinary US citizens, she was strongly in favor of giving China nuclear weapons, weapons that in a war it could have used to kill hundreds of millions of Americans. In fact, she should change her name from Feinstein to Fraudstein or FifthColumniststein.

I was about to commit a very unusual act: I was about to agree with MW.

I do agree that Senator Feinstein appears to have familial conflicts of interest in many of her Congressional decisions. I extend MW's critique of Dianne's current actions to her rather fierce desire to get the United States military involved in the Syrian civil war, which would be an expensive, unneccessary and counterproductive act. Feinstein's disgraceful warmongering is even more inappropriate on the 10th anniversary of our disastrous Iraq misadventure. Has she learned nothing?

But then MW has to undermine his support by issuing such broad, factually incorrect nonsense in the middle of his critique. Let's start with the fact that China has had operational nuclear weapons since 1964. I could go on from there, but, whatever.

Admittedly, MW is stymied in his usual lengthy line of complaint by Feinstein's lack of a law degree. He'll just has to be satisfied by the Senator's writing of laws and her votes on them. A thin reed, perhaps, but MW might get an odd rant out of it.

Not quite true

On October 2, 2002 H.J.Res.114 was Introduced to Congress. On Thursday October 10, 2002 at 3:05 p.m. EDT the House of Representatives, by a vote of 296-133 passed the resolution. On October 11, 2002 at 12:50 a.m. EDT by a vote of 77-23 H.J.Res. 114 was passed by The Senate.

Not discounting what Barbara did, but She was not the only one in congress to vote against it.

ARTICLE 1, SECTION 8 U.S. Constitution

The Congress shall have Power:

To declare War, grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal, and make Rules concerning Captures on Land and Water;

Not the UN

Keep up the good work guys. Its a bitch for me when I get my facts wrong during a council meeting, I think I am just going to start reading headlines from the paper during open comments. DHS has been the #1 Purchaser of ammo in the US this summer with a whopping 2.5 Billion Rounds of ammo acquired.
Followed by Legislation introduced to limit the amount of ammo gun owners may buy.

Barbara Lee needs to STFU and get back to her ghetto constituency. What a loser!!
