Swalwell The Schmuck

CONGRESS 15 | If anybody has an idea what Rep. Eric Swalwell is trying to accomplish with his peculiarly hysterical postcards from Israel, you're a mensch.

Swalwell always claims he's in firm control of his social media accounts, so we can more than assume the array of photos shared with his followers over the past week has some purpose in his bid for re-election. In the meantime, enjoy some of the goofiest and truly head-scratching political images you will ever find in the East Bay.

Let's start the photo gallery with this one:

The idea of taking a picture of yourself praying at the tomb of Jesus is strange, as one person tweeted Thursday night. But, taking the next step to upload it to Facebook is weird. The intimacy of prayer is usually not something any person, even a politician, would normally portray, unless they were guilty of something and needed the image showing atonement.

Second, Jesus be like, "thanks for dressing up!"

"Please, please, please, let me beat Ellen Corbett. I'll do anything."

This one will go real nice with a growing volume of "Camp Congress" photos showing Swalwell playing various games as representative. For Corbett's campaign team, it might look real nice next to the one of him playing goalie against former members of the U.S. National Team and another in full baseball gear during the Congressional baseball game in June.

I miss you mom! I'll be back home Sunday night!
Love, Eric.

  1. WTF is wrong with him? Seriously? Thanks for the laugh.

  2. He gets extra points with me. I will definitely support the congressman.

The title of the article is mistakenly captioned. It should read "Swalwell the mensch!"

Someone really needs to lose his job for this egregious error.

  3. I don't believe in God, but from what I know about him, I think He would be pretty damn offended if you used him for a photo-op.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Maybe Corbett will respond with a picture of her in a confessional box

    ReplyDelete
  5. this is terrible i totally do not support swalwell, defeat him!

    ReplyDelete
  6. Don't worry. He'll be handily re-elected.

    Thank you very much.

  7. wow...another politician blindly supports Israel. *YAWN* What else is new? Want to impress me? Go spend some time with some of the oppressed and destitute political refugees in the Middle East.

  8. Tavares, your the only schmuck here you dumb ass. Stop getting on your knees to blow the local establishment, and do some real reporting. If you only knew how many people hated you.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Hey, I like Tavares; however, my view Swallwell doing all right-in the public eye, on TV, getting his name out there; I was once advised :"Santos get your name in the paper every day, no matter the issue. Good or bad, make the paper as always as possible." Good advise and Swallwell doing this-

  10. Swallwell will be handily defeated by Ellen Corbett in 2014.

  11. Same union whore living in a dream world.

We enjoyed having you away for the last week. Please crawl back under your union whore-infested rock.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Same anti-union troll who seems to think he's relevant and people care what he thinks.

  13. We know the worthless immediate-above comment when we read it. Back under the rock with you.

  14. 8:49 get your head out of your ass!

  15. It strikes me that one individual who tries to dominate this string always attacks what he/she believes are union abuses but never attacks management abuses that are far greater and more numerous, especially when it comes to large retirement management benefits and salaries. Can we please get back to topic which is" Swalwell the Schmuck ".

  16. Talk about bias and reaching.

My Guatemalan gay husband, I, and our 87 registered voter family members in Pleasanton all will be voting for a great congressman--REP. ERIC SWALWELL!

    ReplyDelete
  17. And my 88 family members will join my wife and I and vote for Ellen Corbett.
    What rubbish-1:15

    ReplyDelete
  18. Swalwell's a corrupt idiot who's in the pocket of Valley developers and other vested interests who can care less about the other 98% of us. He makes too many mistakes and that's why Ellen Corbett will win in 2014.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Ellen's campaign song and mantra "Livin' in a Dream World!" Oh yeah!!

    ReplyDelete
  20. Eric's swan song and mantra " Corrupt and hope to get re-elected besides all the mistakes I make ". Talk about a dream world--never happen! Bye, Bye loser

    ReplyDelete
  21. he has go to go, because he has to campaign until Election Day 2014, lets go CORBETT!!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Looking extremely forward to a second term by my exceptional congressman, Hon. Eric Swalwell.

Proud to be a Swalwell Warrior.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Oh yeah, well I'm a Whorbett Whorior!

    ReplyDelete
  24. I voted for Swalwell last time in the General because I only had 2 choices. In the primary I voted for someone else. This time I will vote for Ellen Corbett because Eric has screwed up time after time in his 1st term and Ellen has more compassion for the 95% of us who aren't wealthy, women, seniors, consumers, etc. She gets the highest ratings from all these groups.

    ReplyDelete
  25. My Guatemalan gay husband, I, and our 87 registered voter family members in Pleasanton all will be voting for a great congressman--REP. ERIC SWALWELL!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Anon above--you are a joke. My LGBT friends and I have 88 votes for Ellen Corbett. Your post added nothing meaningful to this tread.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Corbett wins easily if she runs in 2014. Everybody loves her except the extreme right wing. I'm a conservative to moderate, depending on the issue, and will be voting for her.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Ellen Whorbett is full of shit. So are the imaginary 88 gays referenced above.

Practice reciting after me: "The most Honorable Eric Swalwell, congressional representative, who will definitely be re-elected by this new district--whether your lame, old assess like it or not!"

    Oh yeah!!!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Way to make your point 6:06. Do you really think calling people names and using sexist terms will help you convince anyone? Ellen will win because the people supporting her are more reasonable and moderate than people like you who support Eric.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I'm a female who voted for Swalwell last time, but will vote for Ellen Corbett this time. I do agree with Anonymous 2:18 and his/her point.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Anon 6:06--please try and keep your posts on an intelligent level so we can have a meaningful dialogue?

    ReplyDelete
  32. Sorry, children. I'm not trying to convince anyone of anything. The reality is each and every person who writes their comments knows exactly what he or she will be doing. No one, not anyone will change that. Don't view this as that type of forum. This is an opportunity to go after the Whorbett sympathizers--who are in fact about three, though sometimes four, hard core zealots of hers. Changing your rants and 'style' wins no points here--especially the guy who writes that he is female and voted for Swalwell last time. Not in this world. Another whore for Stark and the same song for Ellen.

As for Ms. Whorbett, she is a panderer to the extremes. In my book anyone who prostitutes him/herself for the radicals is absolutely a whore. The fact that it rhymes with her sir name, well, I believe in calling a spade a spade.

Anyway, the congressman will be re-elected very easily thanks to the new district. After the election, you trolls need to crawl back under your rocks and lick your chops. Your day is long past, as evidenced by the defeat of your dethroned lord and savior Pete HO Stark.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I didn't vote for Stark and I resent your sexist comments. You are hurting Swalwell and helping Ellen when you make them. Thank you

P.S. Do you still use the N word for African Americans too?

    ReplyDelete
  34. Got to get with 2013, Stark voter. It' not 1963 anymore.

Whores come in both genders, all religions, creeds, ethnicities, etc. As for what you resent, nice try Ellen puppet, but truly I could care less.

Yes, the word Negro is absolutely proper. In fact, while I am Caucasian, a man for whom I have tremendous respect, the late Thurgood Marshall, said that it was his preferred term of reference--if race needed to be invoked. While just slightly dated, it is a perfectly legitimate term and is not a pejorative. In fact, negro is the Spanish word for black.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Anon 8:31--take your sexist and racist self and go back to your cave! It's voters like you supporting Eric that will make it easy for Ellen to win. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  36. Can't take it, eh above? Only like to dish it.

Too bad. The truth shall set her free--to bake cookies! She'll have plenty of time to do this when she's in her rocker alongside your loser Stark!

Laughing at you all the way to election day!

    ReplyDelete
  37. But, you won't be laughing after election day when the corrupt and mistake prone kid, as Tavares has consistently pointed out, gets beat out by a skilled and talented women politician named Ellen Corbett. BTW I voted for Eric last time, but will never do so again.

    ReplyDelete
  38. No, you actually voted for Stark. No lies here.

Ellen Whorbet is in her own orbit. The voters are going to make plenty sure she has time to bake up some award-winning cookies. Really needs to learn how to bake.

The congressman is busy dealing with affairs of the district. Ellen would be in way over her head. She needs to take up a hobby...like baking.

    ReplyDelete
  39. 3:38 you need to pull your head out of your sexist ass and do your own baking!

    ReplyDelete
  40. That's her job--the only one that she'll have shortly.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Sisterhood will prevail in 2014--hope you don't cry?

    ReplyDelete
  42. Swalwell is doing what he said he would. Unfortunately he is up against the old guard in Congress, and the those with the smart remarks but no fabric to their comments. Like Stark, Corbett is the career politician. For those with a short memory, a few months ago when the state was going to sell the vehicles driven by the Corbett types, just before the sale, she and several other members went out and had work done on the vehicle they had been driving and intended to buy. In Corbett's case the work on her car cost the taxpayers of our great state, close to $2,000. A few days later she purchased the car and a much below bluebook value. Like Stark, there is a questions of both ethics, and integrity.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Tavares comments about the photos above are best described as a display of journalistic ignorance. The photos were taken of Swalwell along with 35 other congressmen & woman on a fact finding trip to Israel. Their day started with breakfast at 7am, bus at 8am, and getting back to their rooms around 10pm or 11pm for eight days. The photo of the child playing ping pong was taken of a recreation area (play ground setting) inside a bomb shelter for kids. The children's play area is fortified with thick walls of concrete. Unlike our children here, those living near areas under Palestinian control are subjected to random missile launches. Also, bus stops in the area have small concrete enclosures for people to go to in case of a missile. One missile was fired during Swalwell's trip.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Do you deny Swallwell is corrupt? He is in the pocket of Valley developers and you know it. It has cost us far more than a couple of k's. If he's this corrupt now, what will he be like in a few more years? I don't want to find out and that's why I will be voting for Ellen Corbett. She has a 100% voting record with the consumer groups. I trust her far more than the young crook!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Agree that Ellen Corbett is the better candidate for our District. I do think that it will be a close race, but being a woman will help her win. She also has wonderful voting records with Senior, LGBT, Union, Environmental as well as the Consumer groups.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Ellen is a paid lobbyist who shills for her own interests. Once she loses decisively I suggest her 14 supporters who try to inflate their numbers on this string go out to the new bridge and look longingly into the far off. Ponder what you had naively hoped might have been.

Congressman Swalwell will be representing the district in Washington, which is no place for novices such as Corbett. My humble suggestion is that she learn to bake humble pie to go along with the sour lemonade that Stark's making these days. Then they can both sit on the porch and try not to fall of their rockers while eating pie and drinking lemonade. Fitting end to both of these losers.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Stark was in his late 80's and arrogant--Ellen is in her early 50's and very humble--big difference. You can use some of her kindness instead of acting arrogant like Stark. It's been pointed out to you that your comments are sexist, but I suspect that is deliberate, and you could care less. Ellen Corbett cares more for the 95% of us that are not wealthy or conservative, and that's why she will be victorious. Thank you for your opinion, but I would suggest you are the one backing a novice who is prone to mistakes.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Agree with the above post and yes I am a woman. Ellen also has a perfect voting record on women's issues which nobody has pointed out so far.

  58. I am p-ing myself at this article the pictures and the comments. Stalwell is as doofus-bag. Altho Stark is an admitted atheist -- at least he wasn't a hypocrite. I really dislike these squeaky white 30's novice boys representing us and inappropriately put into high profile positions in the county. What a world! Keep up the stories - Smallwell an ongoing study in idiocy and gullible public supporting shallow'good' looks (but no real convictions).

    ReplyDelete
  59. Ellen will clean his clock in 2014 because Swallwell is a corrupt mistake prone kid who is in totally in over his head!

    ReplyDelete
  60. The congressman will be serving for many more terms thanks to the redrawn district.

But you're onto something. Just the other day I needed to have my antique clock cleaned and had a very difficult time finding a good cleaner. This would be a good profession for what's her name once she's termed out and without a job. Granted, she'd need to go back to school, but she might be able to handle it. She would first need to apprentice and earn minimum wage. Since she's lacking in experience, I would root for her because we always like to give old timers a break when we can.

She would still need to bake cookies, though, as a backup.

    ReplyDelete
  61. 8:51 you are wrong again as usual. You need to take your sexist self back to Eric's office and quit trying to dominate this string. We all know your are a male chauvinistic pig--oink Ellen wins easily as she has in most of the District 2 times. We know you and Eric are scared, but try to act like big boys!

    ReplyDelete
  62. Seems to me that you continue to have your head up your ass, and that you're the one running scared.

Too bad you're only guessing as to 'who I am.' Whatever. Reality is that she has had her run and her time is done. The new district saw to that.

Time for you to embrace our moderate congressman, ask what you can do to help, and then move yourself off to the sidelines where you belong.

Don't be such a putz. Baking is a good hobby, and she'll need more than one after she loses her job.

    ReplyDelete
  63. You keep talking like the cave man you are--all the rest of us hear is Blah, Blah, Blah. I'm surprised Eric lets you work for him because you are so incompetent. Oh wait ---so is he. That's why Ellen will win. Remember big boys don't cry or use sexist terms.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Almost every other day Swalwell makes another mistake. look at today's headline that Taveres posted.

The rest of us could care less whether you like it or not. You don't like it? MOVE to Berkeley and worship your goddess Barbara Lee. We took back this district and thanks to our citizens' task force the demographics ensure that Congressman Swallwell will be around until HE chooses otherwise. Get with the program, ho. It is what it is.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Remember Cave Man sexist remarks went out years ago. That's one of the reasons Ellen will beat Eric and get rid the brat and his extremist followers

    ReplyDelete
  67. Swallwell belongs to the idiot party called "Blowing in the Wind". He will lose to Ellen Corbett.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Corbett, the only challenger in November, has simply positioned herself too far to the left for too many years.

The top-two system puts her at a extreme disadvantage that she never had to deal with in past elections.

Like Pete Stark, she'll do well West of the hills, but will be completely out done in Pleasanton, Livermore, Dublin where she needs to appeal to moderates and conservatives.

The math no longer works as it did for decades.
You can't vote for things like putting non-citizens on juries and then expect it to not portray you as out of step with main stream voters in the district.

    ReplyDelete
  69. She has been elected many times in most of the district and people love her. Eric the doofus has made multiple mistakes in our District on almost a daily basis and people are laughing at his ineptness. I live east of the hills and she will do quite well here. Ellen will score big among moderates and independents unlike Stark who wasn't liked because of his abrasive personality. Many people here have told me they voted for Eric only because he ran against Stark, but will vote for Ellen because Eric has screwed up too many times and they like Ellen better.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Sorry, but still no cigar.

Corbett, henceforth to be known as Missy, comes up a day late and $$$ too short.

She gets relegated to the scrap heap of political losers and soon forgotten.

    ReplyDelete
  71. I wish Swalwell's staffers would quit writing and posting on this blog. They always try and change the subject and pump up the idiot kid. Ellen has many bills pass both the Assembly and Senate that are sitting on the Gov.'s desk for signing that will benefit most of us. Most importantly she's not making mistake after mistake almost every other day like Eric. The kid is an embarrassment in way over his head who stands for nothing. Ellen Corbett in 2014 for Congress will be a major improvement for our district.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Swallwell=flip flop, flip flop, flip flop, flip flop, flip flop, etc. What a panderer.

  93. agree with anon 10:00. I wish Swallwells staffers would stay off this blog. They don't even try and defend their candidate because they know that he is a flip-flopper who has his finger to the wind and has NO principals. Even if I don't agree with everything Ellen Corbett does, I TRUST her more than the flip-flopper. Plus, his staffers are very sexist.

  94. 9:57 and 6:01 are one in the same.

These are Corbett cheer leaders who try to dominate.

Old-time cronyism is alive and well with Ellen Corbett!

  95. There are no 9:57's and 6:01's Swalwell staffer at 9:07. You are as incompetent as your boss. The Swalwell staffer who has half the posts on this string is just as wrong as Swalwell and once again he/she is trying to change the subject. Talk about a cheer leader. All your posts won't be able to save an immature kid who stands for nothing .

  96. We're going to make sure that the public knows how corrupt she is. Pimpin' for ol' Boss Brown.

Change the subjet? You bet. Going to make sure the public knows the truth about this sinner.

What's the matter, stooges? Afraid the public might learn the truth about this old girl crony who is into making backroom deals on behalf of slimy characters?

  97. You Swalwell staffers are getting more desperate as your candidate makes more and more mistakes. Flip-flop, flip-flop-----like a fish on land. LOL

  98. My name is Wendy Bain from Pleasanton. I am a volunteer staffer for the Ellen Corbett people. I can't sit back any longer while the following goes on.

We have been smearing Ellen on our own and then casting blame on congressman Swalwell. The fact is that neither he nor anyone associated with his campaign has been targeting Ellen.

This has been a dirty, disgusting smear campaign that I can no longer take part in. I am finished.

  99. 11:31 is total B.S. and just another Swalwell staffer dirty trick.

  100. Sorry Steve but you used to have an interesting site with local news by what I thought was a decent local reporter. Now, EBC is nothing more than a cheap blog that revels in smears.

I make my living off the evening news
    Just give me something
    Something I can use
People love it when you lose
    They love dirty laundry.
