Moneyball: 10th State Senate District Race

Mary Hayashi
ELECTION 2014 | STATE SENATE | 10TH DISTRICT | Outside of Rep. Eric Swalwell, no other East Bay politician has a bigger campaign war chest than Mary Hayashi. However, the considerable bulge in her pocket book came mostly from contributions received before her political meltdown in late 2011. Money is money, though, but campaign finance reports released Friday show Hayashi received just over $18,000 last year. Assemblymember Bob Wieckowski, her opponent in the sprawling 10th State Senate District, conversely raised over $258,000, but still trails the former assemblywoman with less than over six times the cash in hand.

Hayashi has taken a very low profile since finishing a dismal third in the 2012 Alameda County supervisorial race. Only recently has she appeared at various Democratic and union functions around Hayward and the Tri-Cities. Many believe this is her last chance and she will cash out during this race. A good portion of each dollar Wieckowski raises will likely need to be employed to remind (inform) voters in this large district that stretches from Castro Valley to San Jose exactly who Hayashi is and what she do in 2011 (shoplifting at Neiman Marcus).

The third candidate in his race, Roman Reed, a Fremont planning commissioner who was paralyzed two decades ago playing college football, raised $52,715 since the beginning of his candidacy late last year. Reed is viewed as a acolyte of former Assemblymember Alberto Torrico, also a former friend of Wieckowski. Yet another reason why Wieckowski needs more money.

WIECKOWSKI..$125,116  $123,520  $258,034  $ 80,044  $167,121

I can't see what Hayashi can do with all that money. It would be better used to bribe voters.

Weickowski wins in a run away. Mary's a crook and Reed can't raise money. It's over before it starts.

Start practicing:

Senator Roman Reed!

We don't do Dirty Bobs in this district. Cough, cough--union whores!

Bob Wieckowski is very popular in our neighborhood because of his progressive policies. Most of us are progressive and will be voting for him. Obviously we don't hate unions like you do. They created the middle class in our country, and now that the unions are a smaller percentage of the population, the middle class is disappearing. Wish my job was represented by a union because I would have more spendable income.

Voters in the East Bay should call PG&E and Walgreens and ask them why in November of 2013, they each gave Mary $4,100?

Think about that the next time you pay your PG&E bill or go into Walgreens and pay excessive prices for some small item.

Ask them why they are giving $4,100 to a woman who is still serving a 3 year term of probation for shoplifting.

Perhaps Walgreens thinks shoplifting is OK?
As the local store manager next time you visit the store.

Nobody has even heard of him. It will be Senator Bob Weickowski and most be will be glad it's not Hayashi.

A senate District is too big for a newcomer to win unless he can raise a lot of money and get hundreds of walkers. Mary has a ton of money and Bob has hundreds of walkers. One of them will win, and I hope it's Bob Wieckowski. Bob can raise the money, but Hayashi can't get the walkers.

Mary Hayashi will remain on probation until January 2015.

She was arrested for felony grand theft shoplifting in 2011.
She later took a plea deal which allowed her to no claim she was never convicted of a felony.

No other candidate running for the state legislature or congress will be running while on probation.
I'm sure the voters won't mind.

Since HOweickcowski and HOyashi are both dirty union whores, we say welcome to Senator Roman Reed.

He gets our vote!

Our all-star lineup for 2014:

Re-elected congressman Eric Swalwell
Senator Roman Reed
Assemblyman Steve Glazer
Supervisor Mark Green or Ruben Briones

These are the PUBLIC'S choice, not the union whores. We don't give a rat's behind what they say. Power to the people!

John Q. Public

I'm no fan of Wieckowsk, (with his crazy ideas, like putting newly arrived non-citizens on juries --vetoed by Brown, thank God)
But compared to Mary he will be acceptable.
There is something psychologically weird about her quest to have the people vote for her.
She can't seem to accept or understand why people don't want to vote for someone still on probation for a CRIME.
A crime they would never do.

Its like Mary is living in some dream world...alter existence...bizarro world.
First she runs for supervisor only months after conviction.
She is destroyed.
Then she waits only another 18 months and she is at it again, as though she never got the message the voters sent.

Mary, we don't want you. You haven't even finished your probation, let alone let a few more years pass.

We don't want a politician on probation for theft.
You haven't even come clean, still saying it was all just a big absent minded mistake that anyone could make.

NO, we don't make such mistakes. Not in 30 or 40 or even 60 years. Not even when we're on our cell phones.

Reed doesn't have a chance, so most of us will vote for Wieckowski to make sure Mary doesn't buy the seat.

We can only vote for clean candidates, which means Senator Roman Reed gets our vote.

When people vote, people have more than a chance.

I'll be voting for Wieckowski because I like his progressive politics which is representative of our District.

Senator Bob Wieckowski and it won't be close. He wins the primary with Hayashi second, and then he crushes her in the general because people remember her history.

We can only vote for clean candidates, which means Senator Roman Reed gets our vote.

Your candidate isn't known, not even in Fremont, where he serves. It will be between Mary and Bob and most of us in the district favor Wieckowski.

Roman Reed Is sincere and honest. Not compromised by big money.

There's another candidate - Peter Kuo of Santa Clara County.
If you want a clean candidate, he's your guy.

I'll be voting for Wieckowski because I like his progressive politics which is representative of our District.

We can only support good, clean candidates who aren't beholden to the union whores.

It will be Bob Wieckowski or Mary Hayashi. I believe it's better if Bob wins. I'll never vote for someone who doesn't have a chance in hell. Enough said now!

Who the hell is Reed? It will be Senator Bob Wieckowki and you know it.

Senator Bob Wieckowski!

Now that's the reality. If you think your candidate can win you live in LA LA land.

Only clean candidate is Senator Roman Reed.

My neighborhood will be supporting the only clean candidate with a chance--------Assemblyman Bob Wieckowski, who will soon be Senator Wieckowski. We love Bob and his progressive politics.

Nobody heard of your candidate! LOL Bob Wieckowski will be our next Senator. He's extremely popular and the only one with a chance of beating Hayashi! I think even you know that?
