Down Ballot, May 22, 2014; 12 Days to Election Day

ASSEMBLY DISTRICT 16 A mailer from Steve Glazer this week strongly indicates the moderate Democrat is making a push to the right. “Republicans, put an effective fiscal conservative in the State Assembly. Vote for Steve Glazer,” says the mailer. Included are endorsements from the Republican mayors of Orinda, Lafayette and a council member from Moraga. In other mailers, Glazer has also backed Gov. Jerry Brown’s tax-increase measure two years ago. Furthermore the mailer this week gives credence to the belief by some that Republican Catharine Baker is headed for the top two.

CONGRESS DISTRICT 15 State Senate Majority Leader Ellen Corbett is not gaining much traction, at least, among those willing to pony up donations. Corbett, though, did begin to spend some of her limited supply of cash since April 1, according to campaign finance reports released today. Rep. Eric Swalwell still holds a large advantage with over $696,000 in the bank through May 17. Corbett follows with $116,000, while Republican Hugh Bussell reported just $3,200. Although, Corbett has never been known as a very good fundraiser, it’s becoming increasingly clear any chance of her attracting donors this fall will only follow a strong second-place finish on June 3..,Meanwhile, Swalwell appeared with a Sesame Street character on Capitol Hill while helping out veterans.

HAYWARD MAYOR Councilmember Francisco Zermeno has a pretty good grasp of social media, at least, Facebook and Instagram. Over the past few months, Zermeno has posted photos of Hayward streets he canvasses with the comment, “Love my city.” But, on Wednesday, he was upset when he came across one of his yard signs splayed on the street and snapped a photo. “This is NOT right! My lawn sign in the street! Who's doing this?” Zermeno wrote on Instagram. One supporter replied, “Politics has always been and will always be a dirty business. Good luck it takes a special type of person to swim with sharks.”

We'll take CONGRESSMAN ERIC SWALWELL 2014!

Proven experience, leadership, and compassion!!

My family and I just voted for Steve Glazer since he isn't a puppet of the entrenched special interests. He's definitely not controlled by big business. After all of the accusations and counter-accusations, we did our homework. He is the best hope of having an independent-minded Democrat in Sacramento and who has an excellent repoire with Jerry Brown. The man knows how to say 'NO' to the unions, which want to bankrupt California and have done a pretty good job so far!

To Steve Tavares - Please check with people in Santa Clara County who reside in SD10. State Senator Ellen Corbett was given part of Santa Clara County SD10 as a result of redistricting a few years ago. She has been an absentee senator. She does not show up for any legislative events here, nor has she bothered to spend time here or get to know the residents here and our concerns. I assume this is because she knew she was termed out so the voters in SD10 residing in Santa Clara County couldn't vote for her in the future, so why waste any time getting to know us or representing us. I'm sure she's been busy as Senate Majority Leader, but the bottom line should always be that elected officials are supposed to represent the people from their district - and that means getting to know the people and what they care about.
Congressman Eric Swalwell's campaign team should be made aware of this fact. Senator Corbett just completely ignored the good people of Santa Clara County after redistricting.

I think Baker will come in first in the primary because the Dems. split their vote. Then it will be the pro consumer, Tim Sbranti, vs. the corporate, Steve Glazer. Tim wins the battle for second because of his door to door campaign that seems to be everywhere. Face to face is the best way to get votes as people tend to throw away the hit pieces after awhile.

It will be one hell of a November election with the Republicans and corporate interests pouring money into the race for Baker, and Democrats and all the other groups supporting Tim. I do believe Tim will win a close general election based on his superior ground game and support from Glazer and Arnerich.

That guy Branti is bought and paid for by the corrupt special interest union whores. He's the dirty unions choice in 2014!

Why the hell would anyone put that crooked fox in the hen house? He'll bankrupt CA and give it all away to the union whores, who are supporting him and continue screwing the rest of us.

That's why my family voted for CLEAN STEVE GLAZER 2014. Steve has done amazing things in his city to bring people together on issues, rather than tear them apart like Branti. That's why Steve is supported by just about all the consumer groups, senior groups, environmental groups, etc.

Glazer is not clean at all. Looks like the anti-union sexist troll is posting for the corporate lap dog Glazer again. This doesn't make him sound like a breath of fresh air. Glazer sounds like a dirty politician.

Steve Glazer is a political consultant who was paid hundreds of thousands of dollars by a corporate interest group funded by tobacco companies, oil companies, real estate developers, pharmaceutical and insurance companies. If elected to to the state legislature Glazer would work to pass laws that benefit them and rubber stamp their issues.

Tim Sbranti in contrast, is a statewide leader in education, a classroom teacher and effective local leader. Under his fiscal leadership he transformed Dublin from a city suffering from serious budget deficits into a city with a budget surplus, without sacrificing major cuts to community services.

LIES! LIES! LIES!

I see the the shill is trying to directly link oil and tobacco companies to Glazer, rather than being paid as a consultant by JobsPAC. If you only would have gone 1-2 degrees further - you could say Glazer tax dollars are paying public unions - which are funding Sbranti's war chest. So you see, oil & tobacco are funding Sbranti's campaign!

Of course, I don't see any effort to dig into Sbranti's political donation history before he became the unions' darling. If the shill did, he might have mentioned Sbranti's donations from PG&E and 3 donations from Chevron.

The shill might have even mentioned the disgusting push polling tactics supporters of Sbranti are conducting in AD16 - a race & class baiting tactic straight out of the Republican playbook on how to manipulate low information voters in southern states.

Now let's see how well that tactic works in AD16 - with Orinda, Lafayette, Moraga, Walnut Creek, Alamo, Danville, Blackhawk, San Ramon, Dublin, Pleasanton and Livermore - the voters are not exactly low-information, and might actually care about where their tax dollars go.

Oh, and it's only odd that the author did not mention any of this with the assumption the shill himself did in fact write this hit piece and not the Sbranti campaign - which in that case its totally understandable!

Get ready to cry Tuesday night, union whores, when your stooge goes down to defeat bigtime. Will be CLEAN STEVE GLAZER 2014 v. Catharine Baker. Either way, seat stays in Contra Costa County!

To the Glazer Shill: What a Liar you are. Corporations have spent over 2 MILLION on trying to elect Glazer!

I voted for Tim Sbranti too because:

Most of my neighbors will be supporting Tim Sbranti. He is one who works towards compromise and has the support of moderates, independents, democrats, consumers, police, fire, nurses, teachers, environmentalists, seniors, women, and others who care about multiple issues that matter to voters and not just one issue like your candidate.

We believe that teachers belong in the classroom. To that end, we will be voting for clean STEVE GLAZER 2014. The future assemblyman knows that, too. We all need to send Steve to Sacramento and his opponent back to the classroom, where he belongs.

Teachers have no business in the capital; that's the place for qualified legislators. Teachers belong in the classroom, implementing the policy that the qualified legislators have passed.

Let's all do our part by supporting clean STEVE GLAZER 2014! He's the PEOPLE'S CHOICE candidate!

We can't support union whores.

CLEAN STEVE GLAZER 2014!

To the Glazer shill: What a liar you are. Glazer is not clean at all. Looks like the Glazer troll is posting for the corporate lap dog Glazer again. The below facts say he's not clean or the people's choice.

Glazer is a political consultant who was paid hundreds of thousands of dollars by a corporate interest group funded by tobacco companies, oil companies, real estate developers, pharmaceutical and insurance companies. I'd say Tim Sbranti is the clean candidate and the people's choice.

Joan Buchanan will back Tim Sbranti who will be our next Assemblyman. This with the teachers providing walkers and phoners will be more than enough for Tim to win the primary and the General. The Contra Costa and Alameda Labor Councils will also back Sbranti. The conservatives and Republicans will be backing the only woman in the race-Baker. This leaves Glazer 3rd at best. Politics of the top 2 screws him. Besides, Tim has the ability to bring everyone together to create compromise where everyone wins. No one else does.

Reality check from our next ASSEMBLYMAN CLEAN STEVE GLAZER 2014!

Steve Glazer is not clean. He has been bought and paid for by the corrupt corporate special interest crooks that continually stick it to consumers. They have spent over two million dollars on his campaign.

Tim Sbranti, on the other hand, is a teacher who is used to compromise and trying to find situations that help all. That's why he is endorsed by Nurses, Police, Fire, the Democratic Party, Consumer groups, Environmental groups, Seniors, Women groups, our current Assemblywoman Joan Buchanan and many others.
