Oakland to borrow Portland employee to start new Dept. of Race and Equity

OAKLAND CITY COUNCIL | The head of Portland's Office of Equity and Human Rights may be coming to Oakland to help establish its own similar department, but only for a few months, according to The Oregonian.

The Oakland City Council Rules Committee on Thursday scheduled an agenda item for Nov. 3 to approve the three-month temporary hiring of Dante James, who has led Portland's equity department since its inception in 2012.

James, who is the sister of former KPIX news anchor Dana King, would retain his position in Portland, said the report, but Oakland would assume James' salary while he works to set up the new department, in addition, to advising the city on hiring its first director.

James earns over $147,000 a year, according to the report, making him one of the highest paid employees in Portland city government.

Earlier this year, Councilmember Desley Brooks proposed the creation of Oakland's first department dedicated to achieving racial and social equity in the city. The department was approved during the June budget season with the end of the year targeted for its debut.

It is also no surprise Oakland city leaders are reaching out to Portland for guidance. Brooks often recognized the city, along with King County, Washington as inspiration for her proposal.

Someone from a city with a Black population of 6% is going to Oakland to solve race problems?
I wonder if is going to whiten Oakland to match Portland's diversity.

While previous to just reading this article I had never even heard of Dante King, and in fact previous to reading this article I was unaware that Portland, Oregon even had an office of Equity and Human Rights, however being realistic most of those involved in such things as diversity training and so forth are nothing but glib and cool with it phonies and extremely high priced snake oil salesman, and who generally make much worse the problems they pretend to be interested in solving.

And if a city brings one of those jokers in, and to "improve" and monitor the police department and/or supposedly as part of an effort to reduce the murder rate and/or to reduce the number of minorities who die in confrontations with the police department, in most instances the number of people, and especially minorities, who end up dying in violent confrontations actually significantly rises, but still the diversity and race equity "experts" and the mayors who brought them in can insist the program is a "success," since now the people who are dying in violent confrontations, are dying, and even though at an increased rate, as part of an "enlightened" and "politically correct" program.

IN FACT, AFTER BALTIMORE's DEATH RATE FROM VIOLENT CONFRONTATIONS SKYROCKETED AS A RESULT OF THE INSTITUTION OF PROGRAMS AND HIRING OF "EXPERT" MONITORS THAT WERE GOING TO MAKE THE POLICE DEPARTMENT PERFORM IN MORE POLITICALLY CORRECT WAYS, THE BIG BOYS IN BALTIMORE CITY GOVT THEN EVEN TOOK THE POSITION THAT IT WAS NO BIG DEAL THAT THE MURDER RATE HAD RISEN AS LONG AS THINGS WERE NOW BEING HANDLED IN A MORE POLITICALLY CORRECT MANNER.

In other words, the US is being more and more run by "experts" who should be placed in homes for the severely mentally retarded and never released.
