Using the President's favorite social media site, East Bay officials respond to Trump's inauguration

PRESIDENT | Donald Trump's effective use of Twitter throughout the campaign and the presidential transition dominated headlines. On the day of Trump's inauguration as the nation's 45th president, many East Bay elected officials used the same social media site to express themselves, sometimes with melancholy and, in other instances, with defiance.

Oakland Assemblymember Rob Bonta, on the other hand, needed a moment of zen before beginning the fight to oppose Trump's potential policies in the state assembly.

Rep. Barbara Lee, who was one of 60 House Democrats who boycotted the inauguration and one of the first, continued her opposition. Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf, Rep. Ro Khanna and Hayward Assemblymember Bill Quirk offered similar sentiments.
Rep. Eric Swalwell, attended the inauguration as part of the House Democratic leadership, while wearing a button vowing to defend the Affordable Care Act.

Hopefully Trump will follow through on the ideas he expressed in his inaugural address. In that case, the phonies and bloodsucking leeches who pretend to be great liberals and wonderful humanitarians will really get upset, since it would be a huge threat to the extremely profitable scams they have been running for at least several decades.

While I have no idea as to what types of administrations Harding, Coolidge, and Hoover ran, however going back to at least FDR the president has clearly been either a Democrat or a Republican, and also ran for office as such.

However in the practical sense Trump ran for president far more as an independent than as a Republican, and hopefully as president he will also be far more of an independent than a member of a major political party. If so, he would be a huge threat to the extremely profitable scams that a lot of long entrenched special interests, and especially with ties to the DP and the phonies who pretend to be liberals, but also some Republicans, have been engaged in for many decades.

And the Bay area is the world's capital and headquarters for the very most extreme of the phonies, demagogues, charlatans, and scam artists who pretend to be great liberals and wonderful humanitarians. So therefore the Bay area, and especially Alameda County and San Francisco, will very likely be the nation's capital and headquarters for resistance to Trump if he tries to serve the interests of the general public, and rather than primarily being the servant of the special interests.
